Hey everyone,
Well what a whirlwind of a year we have had here at the Endometriosis New Zealand (ENZ) headquarters! 2008 has been exceptionally busy with rolling out the programmes we offer the community all across New Zealand, a government contract, and providing support and resources. For a fuller list of some of the highlights of this year check out the 'latest news' part on our website.
To keep you in the loop, from the 22nd December to the 12th January the ENZ office will be shut. If you need information or advice there are a couple of options, you could leave us a message and we will get back to you when the office re-opens on the 12th or read the info on the website. If you need support or medical help urgently over the time we are closed please contact your doctor or go to the emergency services at your local hospital. You may want to take ENZ resources or a support person with you so the medical staff can be fully informed about how to best care for you.
2009 is fast approaching so we need you to get your thinking caps on about how we can make an impact in New Zealand for the internationally recognised endometriosis awareness week, which is the first week of March. We want to really raise the profile, and awareness of endometriosis and some funds for the women of all ages struggling with this disease.
A very cool idea was put forward for everyone across the country to hold a ‘girls night in’! I think this is such a fab idea because it’s easy and doesn’t cost a lot. The idea is that you have your friends and or family around for an event and the money that you would have spent on going out can be donated to ENZ. The sky’s the limit, instead of going to the movies you could invite a couple of your besties around to watch a DVD or instead of going out to dinner you could have a BBQ? So start having a think about what you could do to support the thousands of women suffering with endometriosis in New Zealand!
Well I hope you all have a very safe and happy Christmas and New Year filled with heaps of presents and yummy food that you shouldn’t really eat but because it’s Christmas it’s ok!
Talk again in the New Year,
Elaena xx
